Everything creditors ask about CompareDebtRecovery — the money, the anonymity, the vetting and your data.
Is it really free for creditors?
Yes — being matched, introduced and using the late-payment calculator cost you nothing, with no obligation at any point. Agencies pay us a fixed fee when they take on an introduced case. You're never charged, and never pushed toward anyone.
How exactly do you make money?
One way only: the agency that takes your case pays us a fixed introduction fee. Every agency pays the same way, listing on the panel is free, and payment never affects the matching. We don't take commission on recoveries and we never charge creditors.
Which agency will contact me?
One from our vetted panel that genuinely fits your case — matched on specialisms, fee model, minimum debt value and coverage, never on marketing spend. They introduce themselves with their full company details and credentials, and set out their fees in writing before anything starts.
Will I get sales calls?
Not from us — we never cold-call and your number is never sold or added to marketing lists. Your details, including your phone number, go only to the vetted agency handling your case, so they can discuss it with you.
What kinds of debt can I chase?
Unpaid commercial invoices, commercial and residential rent arrears, CCJs that need enforcing, business and personal loans, and most other debts owed to you in the UK. If your situation is unusual, start the comparison anyway — or ask us via the contact page.
What do debt collection agencies charge?
The common models are fixed fees for defined actions (like a letter before action), commission on what's recovered (often 5–15% for commercial debt, sometimes as no-win-no-fee), and hybrids — an upfront instruction fee with a reduced commission. The agency that takes your case sets out its model in writing before anything starts.
How do you vet agencies?
Before an agency can appear we check credentials, regulatory standing and track record, and we remove agencies whose standards slip. Vetting doesn't guarantee any particular outcome, but it keeps the panel one we'd choose from ourselves.
What happens to my data?
Your case details are used to match you against the panel, and your contact details are shared only with the vetted agency that takes your case. We don't sell data and we never share marketing lists.
Am I committed to anything by submitting my case?
No. You can submit your case, hear the agency out, and still walk away. You're only ever committed if and when you instruct them directly, on terms you agree with them.
What if I'm unhappy with the agency?
Your agreement is with the agency, so raise it with them first — but tell us too via the contact page. Complaints feed directly into vetting, and agencies that generate them don't stay on the panel.
Ready to get your money moving?
Tell us what you're owed — we'll match it against vetted UK agencies on fees, model and specialisms, and the right one gets in touch. Free, no obligation, no cold calls.
